Anthony Sankale, of Malden, recently opened a new business on Crescent Street in Waltham.
Anthony Sankale can't help but smile when he talks about his homeland, Kenya. To share his passion, the Malden resident recently opened Mizizi Design on Crescent Street in Waltham out of which he sells hand-made crafts from from his Maasai tribe.

The store is the latest chapter in Sankale's journey to America. Sankale immigrated to the United States in 2005 after he was chosen to receive citizenship through the federal government's immigration lottery, he said. Upon arriving, Sankale worked as a security guard in Boston as well as several HVAC technician jobs. Wanting to share his passion for his tribe, Sankale chose Waltham in which to open his store. The store opened on Jan. 18.
"The response was great," he said, nothing Waltham's diversity made it a perfect place for the store. "I want this business to grow."

He said, "I live in Malden, north of Boston". But lets hope thats not the most important part of the clip! I bought some earrings from this store and get compliments on them all the time. Can't wait to go back. Thanks, Mizizi!
