Waltham Man Pleads Not Guilty To Lying to Police

William Vasquez is charged with lying to authorities in the hit-and-run death of Scott Coxall.

The man charged with misleading authorities in the hit-and-run death of a Waltham man last year was released last week after pleading not guilty, according to WCAC-TV.

William Vasquez, 34, of Waltham, pleaded not guilty to making misleading statements to authorities during a Waltham District Court hearing on Oct. 17, according to WCAC-TV. Vasquez was ordered to surrender his passport as well.

Vasquez is the boyfriend of Blanca Contreras who is facing motor vehicle homicide charges for hitting and killing Scott Coxall the night before Thanksgiving of 2011. Vasquez originally told Waltham Police he was not driving the car that struck Coxall. In a March interview, however, he reversed his prior statements and told police he was driving the car.

Also, Contreras's attorney told the court last week that a new witness now says he saw a man driving the car that struck Coxall, according to WCAC-TV. The Middlesex County District Attorney's Office told WCAC that they had spoken to the witness, but were proceeding with the charges against Contreras.

So if he was driving why isn't he being charged with vehicular manslaughter? He's obviously a scumbag that was fine with letting his girlfriend take the fall for his actions, sounds like more illegal immigrants taking advantage of the system 2 me!!

Catch Wity,

The DA's office has said it plans to proceed with the charges against Contreras, but have not said why.

Hmm You'd have to check with a lawyer, but I believe they could both be charged because of the little switch-a-roo they pulled between the crash and when the police found them.

Catch Wity, you are correct. Gotta keep all the illegal immigrants who kill US citizens under wraps. Waltham and the Waltham PD don't want this brought to light. Mark my words, her charges will be dropped and he'll never have to answer to anyone. MARK.MY.WORDS.

Ryan great job with the site, way better and informative than W/L. The ham, I agree 100%, it's sad cause he just cast a shadow of doubt on her trial so she'll walk free, he'll maybe do a year & they'll both live happily ever after for taking the life of a member of our community!!

Ok what is with the racism in Waltham? Whenever there is a crime with a Latin last name every one has something to say! ! But when a white kid pulls a syringe on someone or shoots up lake St. Or stabs someone on Hammond St. Or shoots and kills some one on lexington St. Or robs our local banks and convenience stores at gunpoint no one say deport them back to Europe! !

Just saying most of the violent crimes in Waltham that make headlines seem to be committed by white people not latinos
