Two Waltham Residents Injured in Crash At Waltham High School

Police are investigating the crash at Waltham High School.

 

Two Waltham residents were seriously injured in a car crash at Waltham High School on July 10, according to Waltham Police. 

The passenger in the car, a 29-year-old Waltham man, suffered facial injuries, according to police. The driver, a 50-year-old Waltham woman, suffered serious leg injuries, according to police. The man was taken by ambulance to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. The woman wask taken by helicopter to Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. 

At around 8:47 p.m., the pair was travelling south in a 1993 Mitsubishi sedan in the school parking lot when the car suddenly veered off the access road. The car hit a tree leaving the pair trapped, according to police. Firefighters had to extricate both victims from the car. Police say the car was speeding. 

The sedan was the only car involved in the wreck. Police are investigating the crash but don't believe alcohol was a factor, according to police.
