Work on a Waltham portion of the comuter rail tracks will start on Oct. 5 impacting traffic in the South Street area, according to Waltham Police.
The Massachusetts Bay Commuter Rail Company will begin replacing the tracks at the Brandeis/Roberts station in Waltham at 11 p.m. on Oct. 5, according to a police press release. The project ends on Oct. 7 at 8 p.m.

MBTA Bus and commuter rail service will run during the project.
