While Black Friday may be the official start to the holiday shopping season, Small Business Saturday isn't far behind.
Here in Waltham, shoppers have the opportunity to browse a plethora of local, independently-owned stores in the city. Locals can find much of what they may need either at locally-owned stores or "big box" stores.
As shoppers gear up for this holiday season and Small Business Saturday, we want to know more about where you find the best products, service and deals in the Waltham community.
What small business in Waltham can you not live without? Let us know in the comments section below.
Is it your favorite coffee shop? The friendly hardware store? That fabulous consignment shop where you find amazing deals? Share your favorite Waltham businesses with us.

This is easy. I LOVE these stores.
1. Waltham Paint and Paper
2. Nickerson & Hill (for my Benjamin Moore paint)
3. Ideal True Value - really great deals, good help, this is what a hardware store should be
4. Felton Street Studios for picture framing

Thank you Kelly! You and your family are one of Waltham's best and biggest fans! My top picks are many of the ones mentioned in the many comments. Among my favorites are Salem Food Store for great Italian specialty foods, Habaneros Mexican Kitchen, Moe's Southwestern has a yummy salad, CompuStar computer repair on Moody St. for fast, quality computer repair, two that so many of my customers rave about are Happy Feet for foot reflexology (going there soon), and Evolve Salon on Moody St. (Evolve is part of Holiday Prelude. The first 10 customers who mention Holiday Prelude Free Blowdry get a FREE blowdry! I can't remember when I've been to a mall. I like shopping and dining locally. Another perk is that you run into so many neighbors and friends locally.

My new favorite is Charcoal Guido's on Moody Street. Best pizza I have ever eaten, and that includes trips to Italy.
Also appreciate the Agway "seed and feed" store on Emerson Rd. The guys who run it are very knowledgeable about lawn and pest problems.
And More than Words, the used bookstore on Moody Street that helps at-risk youth learn business skills.

1. John Brewer's. Not a regular, but it's great to go there just to "get away from everything", enjoy a beer, and watch sports.
2. I know it's a chain, but having Shaw's down the block is so awesomely convenient. Has the better and cheaper vegetarian/vegan variety than Stop & Shop and for a standard supermarket.
3. Watch City Brewing. I'll take my kid any time we're in the area & split an order. Nice people and environment.
