[UPDATED] State Hazmat Team At Moody Street Scene

Two people needed treatment at Gordon's Liquors this evening.

 

UPDATE, 8:20 p.m.]: Firefighters and a state haz mat team are on scene examining the scene for the cause of the odor. They have examined the roof and interior of the store several times. 

[UPDATE: June 23, 7 p.m.] Firefighters are venting the roof to remove the gas. Waltham Patch Editor Ryan Grannan-Doll is on scene and said a strange smell is still detectable.

The State Hazardous Materials Team has been called to Moody Street to deal with a leak of a refrigerant this evening.

Waltham emergency personnel treated two people at Gordon's Liquors at 599 Moody St. after they were exposed to an irritant from a refirgerant at the store, according to scanner reports.

The call came in for a strange smell shortly before 6:30 p.m. The call was for a tier 1 hazmat situation, according to the scanner.
