Residents planning any outdoor activity today should keep an eye to the sky for some rough weather.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Waltham.
NWS radar indicated a line of strong thunderstorms extending from Vermont to Massachusetts, moving at 35 mph.
Towns along the Route 2 corridor in northern Massachusetts can expect to see these storms by 2:30 p.m.
Towns between Worcester and Boston will be affected by about 3 p.m.
These storms have the potential to become severe and produce damaging wind and large hail, the NWS said. Residents can also expect frequent lightning and heavy rain.
Minor road flooding and ponding of water in low-lying areas are also possible.
The severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 8 p.m.
