Service for Franco Garcia to Be Held Tonight in Waltham

A body found in the Chestnut Hill Reservoir this morning is believed to be that of missing Boston College student Franco Garcia.

With news that the body found this morning in the Chestnut Hill Reservoir is likely that of missing Boston College student Franco Garcia, friends and family will attend a Mass tonight in Garcia's name.

The Mass with Special Intentions will be held tonight at St. Mary's Church, 133 School St., Waltham, according to Garcia family friend Jennifer Bailey.

The Mass is set to start at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.

Boston College Spokesman Jack Dunn said earlier today that the Boston College community will also schedule a service for Garcia in the future.

State Police responded to the Chestnut Hill Reservoir Wednesday morning after reports came in that a body was spotted about 20 feet off the shore. Preliminary information on the body, including clothing and personal items, indicates the body is that of Franco Garcia.

According to Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley, authorities will be able to confirm the identification following a full autopsy. The investigation in the case will continue as the autopsy results come in, he said.
