I'm curious as to how this kind of event is supposed to help prevent domestic violence. Is there something I'm missing?

Nonny, many people have asked the same question. This is part of a week long initiative for our community to simply take a moment and Say HI to our neighbors. REACH and many people in the community believe that by SAYING HI to our neighbors 1) Will help create a safer community 2) Breaks the isolation that people experiencing violence often feel and 3) Helps us be more likely to look out for each other. I have witnessed a great deal of positive energy this week in the city. This is one of many events around Waltham and an unique opportunity to meet all of the local media and support the REACH Small Actions Campaign. Nonny, I hope to meet you and Say HI!
