A source told the Globe that Lynch will challenge Congressman Ed Markey, D-Malden, for the Democratic primary nomination.
Markey recently announced he was running for the seat. Lynch plans to formally announce his plans after Kerry’s expected confirmation.
Kerry received a warm welcome during his Thursday, Jan. 24 confirmation hearing with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and will likely be confirmed, according to the Washington Post.
Lynch represents 21 communities, including Boston, Braintree, Hingham, Canton, Stoughton, Norwood and Milton. Markey, who has served in the Congress since 1976, represents Waltham, among other communities.

The record as Congressperson that Ed Markey has achieved with years of public service and local involvement like his assistance with the local Local Lexington environmental meetings clearly show He stands Heads Above any other and has EARNED my vote and I and my family will be working to EARN YOUR VOTE for Congressperson as well.

Please vote republican. I know its not what you want to do but its the only way to get these liberals out of Beacon Hill. They are killing our state and country. Republicans will get people back to work instead of liberals dishing out the handouts. Vote Democrat if you want higher taxes, section 8 and EBT.. I hope I EARN YOUR vote. Thank you

Moe: This is the U,S. Senate, not Beacon Hill. That said, I will support Scott Brown (Republican) again if he decides to run. I still have my lawn sign! However, he might decide to wait and run for governor in 2014. He would make an excellent governor!

Please tell me how Ed Markey is useless. He has been an entirely able chair of the Telecoms Committee.
What did Scott Brown ever do?

Ed Markey is way past his prime. He came into office in 1976 during the Pontiac Bonneville era. What ever happened to term limits this guy has been in office for 35 years .
Commercial wind was supposed to produce green energy and savings. Massachusetts residents around wind turbines say the impact on their health has been devastating. People have moved to their basements or out of their homes. The main cause is low frequency sound and sleep deprivation.
A single 1.5 megawatt wind turbine provides enough power for 300 typical homes. The only problem is 50 homes get shadow flicker, noise issues and big loss of property value. The citizens form another group against the turbines and the lawsuits start every time a new wind turbine gets installed.
Ed Markey changed the term NIMBY from "not in my back yard" to "next it may be you". Massachusetts is going to install 3000 land based commercial wind turbines
