Locally owned - I definitely prefer a variety of different locally owned places that all have their own little atmosphere. I

I agree I would rather locally owned establishments however being someone who lives close to the site I would like something to happen soon. The old main st. ford building is an eyesore and it's also bringing down the value of our houses in the area. I can also say shame on Waltham for pushing Market Basket away when they wanted to develop that site. I would rather that much more than what is currently proposed.

We could use a decent Asian place in north Waltham. The now vacant Shell site could be perfect for the right business. Unfortunately, it's almost impossible for small businesses to get loans right now, so we're probably doomed to yet another chain.
