New Condos to Grace Piety Corner
New housing going on former Piety Corner Nursing Home.
Waltham’s Piety Corner will soon be home to a new housing development.
Construction has already begun on The Residences at Piety Corner, an eight-unit luxury condominium development at the site of the former Piety Corner Nursing Home on Bacon Street.
“Waltham has a lot to offer. It has Moody Street and all its restaurants,” said Ernie Rogers, owner and manager of Piety Corner LLC. “It’s a great community and it just feels like home.”
Rogers, a Waltham native and Lexington resident, plans to build eight luxury condominiums on the 1.5-acre site. Each unit will have two bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a loft and garage parking. The colonial style residences will have 2,200 square feet of living space and high ceilings, hardwood floors and granite countertops. Each unit will have a gas fireplace and central air conditioning.
“Piety Corner is a very desirable location in Waltham,” said Rogers. “It’s a great neighborhood, a savored location really, and the ambience of the neighborhood is very special.”
With construction already underway, Rogers expects to begin selling units in September, although a model unit will not be available for viewing until November.
Rogers expects the new homes to be offered for $525,000 to $545,000 and that homes in the area typically sell for between $500,000 and $800,000. Rogers believes the condos will be very attractive to young professionals.
“We’ll have walls up so people can get a sense of the space,” said Rogers.
Rogers has a long history in the development community in Waltham, including a fifteen-year stint on the Planning Board. He has also developed prior residential projects in Waltham before including a three-home subdivision on Rogers Way and a five unit condominium development on Worcester Lane.
The new complex will add to the list of luxury developments in the city, such as Windsor Village on Lexington Street and The Ridge on Ridge Lane.
