Missing BC Student Captured on Surveillance Photos
The photos were taken at approximately 12:18 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22.
The Newton Police Department has released surveillance photos of missing Boston College student Franco Garcia.
The photos, which were taken at an ATM in Cleveland Circle, show Garcia walking by Citizens Bank around 12:18 a.m. on Wed., Feb. 22. The ATM is located at the intersection of Beacon Street and Chestnut Hill Avenue.
Police said it appears Garcia was heading north on Chestnut Hill Avenue.
According to Newton Police Lt. Bruce Apotheker, the photos now give police a better time frame as to when Franco was after he left the bar.
Investigators will also look for more information and surveillance video from the stores and restaurants that line Chestnut Hill Avenue, Apotheker said, including the 7-11 on the corner of Beacon Street and Chestnut Hill Avenue.
Apotheker said police do not believe Garcia used the ATM, as there are no surveillance images of him facing the ATM, only photos of him walking by.
State Police searched the Chestnut Hill Reservoir for the fourth day today, using divers and a sonar scanner to try to find any evidence of Garcia. Garcia's last cell phone signal was picked up near the reservoir around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 22).
According to State Police Spokesman David Procopio, police plan to follow up on a few leads in their investigation. Procopio could not give any details about those leads, just that they are "traditional investigative leads."
Anyone with information about Garcia's disappearance is asked to contact Newton Police at 617-796-2100 or Massachusetts State Police at 617-727-4812.

A fund has been set up to bring in extra resources to help aid the Garcia family and contribute to the continued search. https://www.wepay.com/donations/56091
Please spread the word about the fund to help bring Franco home safely!

I don't understand why the police didn't star their search by looking at the surveillance footage. There are plenty of cameras heading up Chestnut Hill ave, including BOA, Shell gas station, and a major traffic camera in the middle of Cleveland Circle. Were there any images on these cameras?

In the last picture it looks like he is looking at something or around the corner
