Massachusetts Dems Say Ryan's Budget Plans Will Hurt GOP
Patch asked political influencers to react to the news Paul Ryan will be Mitt Romney's running mate.
Massachusetts Democrats believe that with Rep. Paul Ryan on the Romney ticket, Democrats can win by running against Ryan's existing budget plans, particularly his proposal for Medicare.
In a Blue Commonwealth Snap Poll survey sent out shortly after Romney announced Paul Ryan will be his running mate Saturday morning, Massachusetts Democrats reacted to the decision.
"[The decision] defines Romney as a conservative who aligns himself with the tea party," one respondent said.
"The Ryan Budget is regarded as "extreme" by its detractors. The Ryan Budget is controversial and Obama-Biden have to keep playing that card in a fitting manner," another political influencer answered.
When asked if Romney's choice would help the Obama-Biden ticket win over Massachusetts senior citizens, the overwhelming majority answered that they strongly agree.
On the other hand, Massachusetts Democrats said Ryan as running mate will help Romney in the race against President Obama by "motivating the right-wing base of the Republican Party to vote this fall," according to one influencer.
"This plays to the conservative base who love the Ryan Budget and were questioning if Romney is "conservative enough" for them," another respondent said.
In the majority of answers from state Democrats, they voiced their confidence that Massachusetts would vote Blue, regardless of who Romney had chosen.
"Massachusetts goes Blue regardless of Romney's VP pick. There is a slight chance that by picking Ryan, the Senate race will tip a little for Elizabeth Warren's favor since Sen. Brown had endorsed the Ryan Budget," one person wrote.
"Honestly, it won't have much impact on voters in MA because the state is so solidly on the Obama column."
Blue Commonwealth Survey
Our surveys are not a scientific, random sample of any larger population, but rather an effort to listen to a group of influential local Democratic activists, party leaders, candidates and elected officials in Massachusetts. All of these individuals have agreed to participate in Massachusetts’ Patch surveys, although not all responded to this story’s questions.
Patch will be conducting Red Commonwealth and Blue Commonwealth surveys throughout the 2012 election season in hopes of determining the true sentiment of conservatives and progressives on the ground in Massachusetts. If you are an activist, party leader or elected official and would like to take part in periodic surveys that last just a few minutes, please contact Associate Regional Editor Katie Curley-Katzman at katherine@patch.com.

Here is a brilliant synopsis of the forthcoming presidential election debates that a friend posted on his Facebook page:
The debates are going to be fun, the Dems better go to school as Romney knows more about Obamacare than Obama and Ryan knows more about the budget and the money side of Washington than anyone in Congresss or the White House. Prepare to watch several eviscerations. Pied Pipers usually just fool you once.

Romney should know more about Obamacare - it's a replica of Romneycare that when Romney fought for it, said it would an example that would be adopted by the rest of the nation. Now he's scared of it and running away.
The interesting thing about Romney is that he's, unlike any candidate before him, refuses to show us what's in his tax returns even though when his father ran, he said the best way to judge a man is to review several years of tax returns. It will be curious to see how much he reinvests in America compared to other countries as the middle class is in line to support his millionaire tax cuts with his agenda.
Ryan says he wants smaller govt, but it appears that monitoring womens sexual activity (he filed a bill 3 years ago to make birth control illegal) and the consequences of that interaction is very important to him. Wondering how much this big brother surveilance is going to cost the taxpayers and if cutting medicare, social security, veterans benefits and defense will be enough to set up Big Brother.

Can I bring a handout to show how Ryan has voted repeatedely to cut veterans benefits, social security and medicare? You do know that Obamacare is modeled after Romneycare in Massachusetts, but a watered down version. Only for Obama they call it a tax, but just like not having to show his tax returns (which proves he paid far lower taxes (if any) than he insists of the middle class - and it appears his money likes the Cayman islands more than America) Romney is above scrutiny.
I feel so sorry for the seniors if Romney/Ryan take the ticket because so many of them assumed they could collect social security and get medicare until they passed away.
Meals on Wheels is NOT a wasteful liberal program either. It is a low cost way to make sure elderly people don't go hungry and get a little attention - and I don't see why the elected Republicans try to cut it....its mostly volunteers and we value our seniors and think they're worth the investment....but then again, I don't see why they want to cut planned parenthood either ...it's low cost healthcare for women in other states that don't have the luxury of Romneycare!

Watch this and see how Ryan cracks a joke about a 71 year old who is concerned about his social security and medicare and is thrown to the ground and handcuffed. Welcome to how the GOP plans to treat our beloved seniors!
I'm trying to make sure my retired friends understand the consequence of their vote! THIS IS A REAL VIDEO OF THE VP candidate that Romney has delivered us!

You can tell your a Democrat. Democrats can't talk about the issues as all they do is attack the candidate. Democrats are like little kids - when they're not winning they want to take their ball and go home... Republicans are the adults - they can talk about the issues and try to resolve them... Mitt Romney's taxes are not the issue. To quote one President, "It's the economy, stupid"... BTW do you know how many Democrats in Congress have not released their tax returns (Harry Reid being one of them)?... I guess you would rather see us go the way of Greece.

Obamacare has already diverted $814 Billion (That's Billion, with a B) FROM medicare to pay for all the BS that is needed just to get Obamacare up and running. How are the working 51% of people in this country going to pay for the 49% who don't work? That's this years figures.Add to that the fact that people who pay zero in taxes yet manage to get a refund and the problem expands.Obama is a Fascist-Socialist and if the Democrats would actually open their eyes they would see this.As for Mitt Romney paying taxes,he has personally paid more than the 49% of the people in this country COMBINED! See,the one thing that always gets in the way of a Democrat's arguement is the truth and facts.Medicare and Medicaid are bloated and loaded with waste and fraud.Social Security has zero dollars. It was suppose to be their when people retired but the left spent it on other 'social' programs.

Granny,
Suppose your worst fears are confirmed. What if Romney is elected President? It could happen, and all your benefits might be cut off. You could find yourself living under an overpass eating cat food, or sleeping in a refrigerator carton behind the mall doing the dumpster dive for dinner every night.
You need a contingency plan and emmigration is the answer. Costa Rica or Mexico would be most happy to have you. You and Alec Baldwin can lead the charge.

Republicans make money.Democrats make laws to take that money away from them. They then "spread the wealth" around. They then invent more and more "social" programs to aid the future Democratic voters who perpetuate the largesse.Aside from the three branches of government and the military there is not one part of the Constitution or the Amendments that gives the Feds any right to fund ANY program.Obama's latest scam involves watering down the welfare to work program. In Massachusetts we have a Governor who thinks EBT receipients are being 'shamed' because they can't spend OUR money on race tracks, tatoo parlors, nail salons, cruise ships, cigarettes and alcohol or be able to get cash to pay their drug dealers. He wants illegals to be able to get in-state tuition for state colleges and refuses to require the Mass.State Police to be able to arrest illegals. How many drunk illegal aliens (think Obama's Drunk Unk) get a free pass? So go ahead and vote for Obama you treasonous rats.He should be charged with obstruction of justice in the Black Panther cases and his sidekick Holder should be given a 20 year stretch for complicity in the murder of the Border Patrolagent during fast and furious.

Granny, you still haven't answered to the FACT that your previous line about "spoiled little children" was taken line for line, word for word from a previously published article. Then again,a liberal wouldn't know the truth if it fell on them.Just ask Liawatha Warren. She blames the Republicans in Washington for the 'college students' who are "drowning in student loan debt".Here's a clue Liz: don't go to Harvard if you can only afford Community College. I personally have $0.00 in college loan debt because I was raised to earn what I spend not go into hawk up to my eyeballs!

How do you think the politicians will deal with that?

Liberalism is a mental illness prevacated on the belief that they can tell no wrong when,in fact, they are psychotic and need to be medicated.
