Joe Kennedy II, best known for his efforts to provide heating oil to needy residents, has endorsed Joe Kearns Goodwin for the 3rd Middlesex State Senate seat, according to a campaign press release. 

Kennedy, a former six-term Congressman for Waltham from 1987-1999, hailed Goodwin in the endorsement announcement.

"Joe Kearns Goodwin has honorably served his country and his community.  I’ve known him all his life and admire his passion for public service and helping others.  He’ll make a great state Senator," Kennedy said in a press release.

Kennedy is also the founder of Citizens Energy, which provides low-cost heating oil to needy residents.
