Is Bob Dylan Coming to Waltham?
Bob Dylan could be coming to Waltham next year.
Brandeis University students are pushing school officials to host a folk music festival next spring that would bring famed singer Bob Dylan to its Waltham campus, according The Justice, the student newspaper.
While a university official said the college was open to the idea, Senior Vice President of Students & Enrollment Andrew Flgael said the idea poses several challenges, according to The Justice. It could cost as much as $300,000 to host Dylan and the university would have to address whether it would open the concert to attendees other than students, Flagel told The Justice.
The plan, at this point, would bring Dylan to campus for the first day of a two-day festival that would be free for students, according to The Justice. Non-students could buy a one-day pass for $90 or spend $120 for a two-day pass.
Another plan would have a one-day festival and a separate "SpringFest" the next day, according to the Justice.
