Hiroshima/Nagasaki Bombings Vigil Tonight in Waltham
A local Waltham group is planning a vigil to remember the victims fo the bombings that ended World War II.
A vigil to mark the 67th anniversary of the nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki will be held today at 7:45 a.m. on the Waltham Common.
The Waltham Concerned Citizens are sponsoring the event intended to remember the victims of the bombings of the two Japanese islands that ended World War II. In Nagasaki, 70,000 people and in Hiroshima, 140,000 people died.
The WCC was founded in 1981 to stop the use of nuclear weapons and work for peace.
