Here are some fun activities to do with the kids this weekend in and around town.
Watertown Children’s Theatre Improv Cafe
- Where/When: Arsenal Center for the Arts, 321 Arsenal St., Watertown, Friday, 7:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.
- Why Go: Come to the WCT’s winter fundraiser for a special evening full of laughter, featuring Improv Jones, Improv Jones Jr. and other comedy acts. This family-friendly event is open to kids ages 8 and older.
- Pricing: $20 for adults, $15 for children.
Early Childhood Fair and Concert
- Where/When: Watertown Middle School, 68 Waverley Ave., Watertown, Saturday, 9:30 a.m.
- Why Go: Families can learn about local services offered to kids up to the age of 8. After the fair, stay for a kid-friendly concert by Ben Rudnick and Friends.
- Pricing: Free.
- Where/When: Waltham Public Library, 735 Main St., Waltham, Saturday, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Annual Pinewood Derby at the Arsenal Mall
- Where/When: Arsenal Mall, 485 Arsenal St., Watertown, Saturday, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- Why Go: Top Cub Scout racers will compete with their handmade wooden race cars. Come cheer on your favorite Scout in this annual tradition.
- Pricing: Free.
- Where/When: John A. Ryan Skating Arena, 1-99 Paramount Pl., Watertown, Saturday, 4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. and Sunday, 2:45 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.
- Why Go: This is your last chance to lace up your skates this season at the John Ryan Arena. Plus, it's good exercise!
- Pricing: $5 for adults, $3 for children and seniors.
