Good News For Waltham Schools
Waltham schools receive kudos from state for AP access.
The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has honored the Waltham Public Schools for expanded access to Advanced Placement Classes, according to a press release.
The Waltham schools, which have recently come under heavy scrutiny by the DESE, were named one of 46 schools statewide that had offered more AP classes to students and seen an increase in the percentage of students AP scoring at least 3 on their AP tests.
"I am proud of our students and teachers for continued progress in boosting participation and performance on AP exams," Gov. Deval Patrick said in a statement. "We will continue to expand our efforts to help even more students enroll in these rigorous college preparatory courses that will help prepare them for success in the classroom and beyond."
