New England Aquarium’s Traveling Tidepool Exhibit

• Why Go: Bring the kids to the mall to learn about the coastal animals of New England and their habitats. This hands-on exhibit lets children touch starfish, hermit crabs, oysters and other tidepool animals.

Hovey Summer Shorts

• Where/When: Hovey Players, 9 Spring St., Waltham, Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m.- 10 p.m.
• Why Go: Theater-goers will enjoy this unique experience which features ten 10-minute short plays. The Hovey Summer Shorts festival is a collaborative effort of the Boston-area theater community.

Waltham Farmers’ Market

• Where/When: Moody St. & Main St., Waltham, 9:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m.
• Why Go: Support local farmers and artisans at the farmers’ market. In addition to shopping, Mike Williams and Friends will perform as part of the market’s concert series.

6th Annual Civil War Baseball Game

• Where/When: Cornelia Warren Field, 210 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, Sunday, 1 - 4 p.m.
• Why Go: Return to the roots of America's pastime and watch a baseball game played according to rules from the Civil War era. This game commemorates the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War and is part of the Historic Waltham Days celebration.
