Fake MBTA Train Crash In Waltham Today

The MBTA and Waltham Fire Department will simulate a train crash on Sunday, June 10.

The Waltham Fire Department and MBTA will be conducting a training drill Sunday, June 10 which will simulate a train crash.

The drill begins at 7:30 a.m. and will run until 12:30 p.m. It will be held at the train crossing near Waverly Oaks Road. Beaver Street from Waverly Oaks Road to Warren Street will be closed during that time.

The MBTA will bring a commuter train up to the crossing and place it against a car to simulate the crash. Then, the Waltham Fire Department will respond as if it were a real incident.

The drill is intended to give first responders specialized training to responding to this and similar incidents.
