Older Waltham Man Struck By Car
The man was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston for treatment.
A 65-year-old Waltham man suffered a head injury on Feb. 28 after he was struck by a car at the intersection of Fiske and Main streets, according to Waltham Police.
At 6:54 p.m., Waltham Police and firefighters responded to a report of a pedestrian struck while crossing the street, according to police. When officers arrived, they found the man lying face down in the road bleeding form his head. The man had been crossing southerly across Main Street at the Fiske Street intersection. He was struck while in the crosswalk, according to police.
The man was conscious immediately after the accident. The victim was taken by ambulance to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He was in serious condition when he arrived, according to Police Sgt. William Gallant.
The driver of the car, a 54-year-old Marlborough woman, stopped immediately after the incident, according to Gallant. Gallant said the driver was not facing charges at the moment but that the incident was still under investigation. Neither speed nor impairment were factors in the accident, according to police.
