I checked with the Acting Chief of Police and he has informed me that this incident occurred at 11:45pm. While this does not diminish the seriousness of this incident, I would note that the Riverwalk is not lighted and public parks are technically closed at dusk. While all of Waltham, including the Riverwalk, continue to be very safe, it is inadvisable to walk alone in unlit and remote areas after dark in any community.
