Brandeis University will host the WATCH Out 5K road race on Sunday, April 22 to raise money for WATCH CDC's emergency tenant assistance fund, according to a WATCH press release. Runners can register at the Shapiro Campus Center box office at Brandeis University which is open Monday - Friday, 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. It is also open from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Runners can also register the day of the race starting at 9:30 a.m.
The race beings at 10 a.m. at the Great Lawn in front of the Shaprio Campus Center. The event was held for the first time last year.
The fund provides help for security deposits and utility bills among other things and has distributed $3,000 since 2010, according to WATCH.
"This fund supports tenants who need a one-time small grant to stabilize their housing for the long term. Without these funds, the tenants risk homelessness," the press release reads.
