Boloco Hearing/Starbucks Withdrawal Hearing Tonight

Boloco, a local burrito chain, is planning to open a new store in Waltham.

A public hearing for the proposed Boloco burrito store in Waltham will be held tonight, Monday, Aug. 6 during the Waltham City Council meeting.

The company has proposed opening a new store at 475 Winter St. and is requesting a fast food permit from the council, which is required to open. The hearing starts at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

Councilors will also consider whether to approve the withdrawal of plans for a development on Trapelo Road that would have housed a Starbucks, Asian eatery and a bank.

As for Boloco's progress, Boloco CEO John Pepper recently told Waltham Patch that the company's plans do not progress soon, they will lose their lease for their proposed site.

Thank god for the city council and the way they protect us from unlicensed and unregulated burritos.
