UPDATED: Arlington Woman Injured in Highway Crash in Waltham

UPDATED, 5:19 p.m., June 3 with information from the victim, Julie Dumas: Dumas tells Waltham Patch in an e-mail that she only suffered abrasions and a broke clavicle. Also, she corrected prior police reports about the crash saying she is 38 years old and was actually driving a 2005 Honda Pilot.

UPDATE, 8:20 p.m.: State Police have identified the driver as Julie Dumas, 39, of Arlington. 

UPDATE, 4:30 p.m.: State Police have identified the driver of the truck as Rosen Helge from New Brunswick, Canda. He was not injured. 

A 39-year-old Arlington woman sustained serious injuries on June 2 after a car crash on Route 128.

The driver was travelling south at around 10:45 am. when her car, for unknown reasons, suddenly swerved from the far left lane into the guardrail on the right side of the road, according to a State Police spokesman. Her vehicle, a 2009 Honda Pilot, then swerved back to another lane, hit a tractor-trailer truck and hit the guardrail again. Her vehicle rolled over then guardrail and she was ejected from the vehicle. The accident occured under the Route 20 bridge. 

Waltham Fire Department paramedics treated the victim on the scene and transported her to Beth Israel Deaconness Hospital in Boston, according to State Police. 

The driver of the truck is a 49-year-old man from Canada and the vehicle is owned by AYR Motor Express, a Canadian company, according to State Police. The truck was hauling tires. 

The State Police Accident Reconstruction Team as well as the Crime Scene Photo Unit responded the scene. Also, the state Department of Transportation responded to the scene to block two of the road's lanes until the scene cleared at 1:25 p.m. 

The accident remains under investigation.
