Alleged Waltham Carjacker Arrested in Cambridge

Scott Steverding will be arraigned on Aug. 16.

 

A Waltham man accused of carjacking a teenager on Aug. 14 was arrested overnight in Cambridge, according to an Associated Press report on Boston.com.

Scott Steverding, 30, will be arraigned on Aug. 16 at Waltham District Court on charges of attempted murder, armed carjacking and assault with a dangerous weapon, according to the report. 

Police say Steverding, who is homeless, carjacked a woman outside the CVS Pharmacy on Harvard Street, threatening to stab her with a needle filled with HIV-tainted blood. He also allegedly stole $200 and the victim's purse, according to the AP.
