Waltham Realtor and Vice President at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Hans Brings, recently established the "Hans Brings Results for Children's Charities Fund." The goal of the fund is to continually provide financial assistance to children's charities such as Toys for Tots, Home for Little Wanderers, The Genesis Fund, YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, Stanley Snowflake Program, throughout the year.

Brings says, "Charity is an important part of my life and the holidays serve as a reminder that there are so many families in need. I started my foundation as a solution to stay involved with an ongoing list of children's charities throughout the year. It started with a personal donation and I will continue to contribute to the fund for every home I sell. If my clients choose to contribute, I will match their donations dollar for dollar as well."

The Hans Brings Results for Children's Charities Fund just donated $1,200 to the Stanley School Snowflake fund. The Snowflake fund is a charity effort sponsored annually by the William F. Stanley Elementary School Parents and Teachers Organization to provide holiday gifts to families in need at the Stanley School. The program has been conducted at the Stanley School since it opened in 2001, and at the Banks School before that.

Each year, Stanley School families in need are identified with the help of the School Adjustment Counselor. Families provide wish lists for items the students need or want. The lists include items such as clothing, winter outerwear, pajamas, shoes/boots and toys. Snowflake tags are created that list the item requested along with the gender and age of the child, and sizes for clothing/footwear as appropriate. Families and staff from the school take the Snowflakes, purchase the item, and drop it off at the school wrapped with the snowflake attached. Families remain completely anonymous to all but our School Adjustment Counselor.
