The YMCA of Greater Boston Celebrates 100 Years of Improving Lives

The YMCA of Greater Boston celebrated the 100th Anniversary of its Huntington Ave Branch on Tuesday, October 23 at the Fairmont Copley Plaza. The “100 Years of Improving Lives” gala drew 500 locals raising $580,000 to support the Y’s mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Celtics Coach Doc Rivers delivered the keynote address about his roots growing up with the Y while comedian Tony V kept the room laughing as the night’s emcee. Boston’s CEO and president sang Happy Birthday along with 100 children from the West Roxbury YMCA, and familiar neighborhood face in the crowd was Jack Fucci, executive director at the Waltham YMCA of Greater Boston.
