Northeast elementary Celebrates Walk to School Day
On May 4th Northeast Elementary School will join over 200 schools across the state in celebration of Massachusetts Walk to School Day. Over 275 studentsfrom the Northeast School are expected to participate in the event.
The event now in its fourth year was developed in collaboration with MassRides, the state's travel options service. Walk to School events aim to help create safer routes for walkers and cyclists as well as reinforce the importance of physical activity for children and adults alike. Northeast’s commitment to walking includes two walking programs. One in the fall and and one in the winter as well as pedestrian safety training for Grade 2 students and a walking club at recess.
