Lizzy's Ice Cream Brings Chocolates from The Happy Chocolatier to Waltham
The Happy Chocolatier™, LLC, of Acton, MA, and Lizzy’s Ice Cream, LLC, of Waltham, MA, today announced the companies are expanding the availability of their respective sweet offerings. Lizzy’s will offer a selection of The Happy Chocolatier’s fine confections and the signature line, Cubze™, in its Waltham, Cambridge and Needham stores and The Happy Chocolatier will now feature Lizzy’s ice cream, frozen yogurt and sorbet in the company’s Acton retail location.
The founders of both companies left jobs in large corporations to pursue their dreams: creating and selling high-quality sweets that would delight customers. The companies are now working together to broaden the range of outstanding confections available in the communities where their stores are located.
Nick Pappas, who founded his first Lizzy’s Ice Cream shop in Waltham in 1995, stated, “Cubze and other excellent products from The Happy Chocolatier allow us to serve our customers throughout the year. For a long time, I have wanted to offer our customers a range of chocolates and candies. I discovered The Happy Chocolatier earlier this year and feel that it is the perfect fit: high-quality chocolate from a small, local business that understands the importance of its customers.”
“With Lizzy’s Ice Cream now available in our retail shop, we are able to expand the breadth of our offerings and provide a locally made product to our customers,” commented Paul McMahon, who founded The Happy Chocolatier in June 2011 and opened his retail location in October of the same year. “We believe in supporting local small businesses whenever possible and this is a great example. Nick Pappas and his team create ice cream that is extremely fresh, comes in rich, delicious flavors and supports the local economy.”
The Lizzy’s Ice Cream Waltham, Needham and Cambridge locations will carry a variety of confections from The Happy Chocolatier, including handmade items such as chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate pops and milk and dark chocolate bars in delicious flavor combinations; traditional specialties such as sea salt caramels, nut patties and truffles; and The Happy Chocolatier’s signature confections, Cubze. The Cubze are individual servings of truffle-fudge coated in chocolate that are hand wrapped in jewel-toned foils and include an inspirational message about happiness.

Lizzy’s Ice Cream
In 1994, Nick Pappas left his job in the computer industry. With a life-long love of ice cream and access to great ice cream recipes, Nick opened Lizzy’s Ice Cream in Waltham in 1995. For Nick, ice cream has always been a great experience by itself, but he also realized that ice cream was about “bringing people together” since his best memories of ice cream always involve friends and family. Lizzy’s broad range of ice cream flavors and types – over 50 flavors always available – grew directly from Nick’s desire to have something for everyone. Lizzy’s offerings include no sugar added ice cream for people on restricted diets, soy-based ice cream for people avoiding dairy products, nonfat sorbets, and products offering a range of fat levels from zero to 16%. This lives up to Nick’s motto, “If your mission is to bring people together, you need something for everyone.” For more information on Lizzy’s Ice Cream, visit the company’s Web site at www.lizzysicecream.com.
