This year marks the 12th annual Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer event and several Waltham restaurants are participating this year. The event will take place during the week leading up to Mother's Day, May 2nd - May 8th and more than 250 restaurants across the state will participate including the Elephant Walk, Naked Fish, and Tempo Bistro.
During this week, pastry chefs at participating establishments will create a unique dessert item to include on their menu. All desserts start at $3 and %100 of the sales of these desserts will benefit breast cancer research and care at the Dana Faber Institute.
The event began in 2000 and was organized by Carol Brownman Sneider as a tribute to her mother Eva Brownman who lost her battle with breast cancer. Over $500,000 has been raised by this event since its inception. For more information and a complete list of establishments visit: www.bostonbakesforbreastcancer.org
